THE LIGHTER SIDE OF JANE!
Good Late Evening!
So - today, I went to the International bead show with my best friend Lisa- that was held locally. I can't seem to get enough beads obviously. Anyhoo- I ran into a vendor from Vegas who I just loved. She has the best affordable things. She said- AHH! "Pencil Lady!!!" Heheheeee! And then she said, "I don't remember you but I remember Pencil Jewelry!" Of course I hugged her! She made me so happy! I walked away with another bag of beads from her... Then Lisa and I went to Edo Sushi for lunch... YUM! Thomas was away this afternoon at a tournament so I took advantage of the late afternoon to nap with the cats! It was a very productive nap too- when I woke up, it was about 6:30pm and I had a NEW idea for a piece of jewelry. Thomas got home and we went to grab a quick bite to eat and talk about the day. When we got back- I knew I had to run to the studio and make my dream piece real...

SEE! Very silly Cat Head! These little catheads follow me all throughout life so it just made sense that they would find their way into jewelry. I will wait for the glue to set and then I will pour some resin. After that- a few decorative touches and of course more photos... NEXT Idea up for me- are silhouettes of birds I think...

Oh and I did manage to finish my Heart Pendants too-(above) I am going to put it on ETSY soon...

Nighty night!
I really love the resin stuff. Looks great. The cat head is way too cute.
I have a question for you. You use a powder or something to make new stuff look old, right? Like baby doll heads and such? I have a project coming up and would like to make some new dolls look old.
Thanks much!
Lian
Thank you my dear- for the compliments!
Indeed - I do use a metal paint on surfaces which are not metal- to make it look like metal, and then I rust it or patina it further...

If you want a plastic doll to look like it has lived outside- you can always give it a few light sprays of a spray glue and then rub dry dirt all over it. It will grab the dirt- and loose the sticky- It will appear just- worn and perfectly old.
Email me (jane@wynnstudio.com) if you want to know more! I will be happy to tell you my experiences and even show some more photos! I always love to talk "shop"!
